Wish you knew how to sing better?
So you want to learn how to learn how to sing better? Well you’ve come to the right place. This page is the gateway to the best "learn how to sing" information on the web.
There have certainly been more times than one for me when I’ve been singing and thought to myself " man, I know I should be able to do this." Well, as I practiced and played with my voice I learned a thing or two about how to not only control my voice, but stretch my limits as well. That was very empowering for me as a vocalist. Based on all of the experience I've had on stage, I can tell you the single most important thing you need in order to know how to sing better, and that is DON’T BE AFRAID!!! Confidence is absolutely everything when you're trying to sing, and especially when you're on a stage in front of an audience. If you're suffering from a lack of confiedence, it's very possible for that lack of confidence to shine through while you're singing, and that can tarnish your performance. At the very least you need to act confidently when you're on stage, even if you don't feel that confident while singing right now. You'll find that the more you do it, the singing will become easier, and sooner than later, you'll thrive on the feeling of being up on stage in front of people, which is likely what you've always wanted. Most singers dream of this scenario.
One of the key things about being confident when singing is to be sure you're loud enough. Singing loud and proud obviously won’t guarantee that you’ll be in the correct pitch, but it will allow you to hear yourself properly. One thing is certain, if you can’t hear what you're doing, then you can’t correct for your inaccuracies. Hearing is paramount and singing like you mean business is the best way for you to hear what's going on. This is especially true when you're learning how to sing on stage. Once you've done it a few times you'll realize how important hearing is for yourself. Sure you can talk about dynamics and voice control and such, but if you can’t hear yourself properly, because you’re not using your voice properly, then your progress will be slowed for sure.

Although I do already mention it in the link above to the singing basics page, breathing when you sing is something that needs some special attention. You can find my thoughts on it here. There are varying schools of thought on breathing, depending on the method you use when you sing. Some will be accompanied by huge words that are difficult to understand. I think all of this rhetoric around breathing really only serves to make some people feel better or smarter about what they know. I further believe that singing should be easy and that each person has something that makes their voice different from the rest, so you can't simply say there are "rules" that will help you to sing better. I think that the breathing you incorporate with your singing should allow you to sing as effortlessly as possible, and your voice should be built up with that in mind. You should try to keep this point in mind when you sing any song.
Another thing you can do to improve your voice is to practice scales. Go ahead and click on the link to see why I think scales can be an invaluable tool to your success as a singer. Using scales in the right way when coupled with using your head voice is the quickest and most effective way for a person to learn how to sing high notes. On the other hand, if you want to learn how to sing low notes then you need to be aware of what vocal fry is and learn how to use it. Eventually you can use it to sing high notes with as well.
If you’re really not sure about how to get started or even what you should be listening to, then you may be wise to consider a vocal coach or some other type of vocal lessons. I am also making some singing tips available from my own e-book to give you a sample what’s in there. It’s also a good idea to know the proper lyrics. Be sure to move around the site and check out different options.
